The National Urban Park

The very first national urban park in Finland is located in the town of Hämeenlinna. The park provides the visitors with an ideal place to glimpse at the intellectual, economical and social development as well as the cultural trends in Finland. The area comprises five kilometres of pathway along the shores of Lake Vanajavesi and the enchanting woodland and parkland around it.

You can start out on your route from Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna, from the Castle shore or from Aulanko. If you´re looking for a change from walking, you can hire canoes, sup-boards, fatbikes, kickbikes, snow shoes or even tour skates from Aulanko Outdoors. The National Urban Park extends up the slopes to the Aulanko Observation Tower and beyond Lake Aulanko.
